Are you a confident person? Last week we spoke about the 3 step checklist to see if entrepreneurship is right for you to reach #Studygreatness & #Careergreatness helping those of you who are thinking about going down the entrepreneurs route and if it is the best choice for you
|Today we will discuss confidence and how to be comfortable in your own skin to radiate positive and charismatic energy|
|No matter where in the world you go, most people suffer from the same insecurities and challenges, be they young or old. Having confidence is touted as being one of the most desired traits a person can display, but sometimes it can also be your downfall if you do not have it, especially in the work environment|
What is confidence?
People who display confidence can be described as people who are completely comfortable in their own skin and radiate positive, charismatic energy. They give one the impression that nothing is impossible and they will face down any challenge and leap over any obstacle standing in their way.
You may think that this can be the ultimate way of being but it also unfortunately has a darker side. Overconfident people may sometimes overlook important points or make rash decisions without really considering the implications. They just have such a “can do” attitude that literally nothing seems to stand in their way.
Discovering confidence and using its power correctly
It’s my belief that in order to gain confidence, you need to become competent. This means that you need to discover your strengths and weaknesses and make them work for you. You need to become competent as a person, using your uniqueness to carve a place for you in the world. When you are competent in the workplace, it gives you the confidence needed to shine. To become competent in the workplace you need to learn as much as you can about what you do and make it yours. The confidence that results from being competent will be noticed by all and you will attract more people to you.
Competence = Confidence, the No. 1 tip to improve your career confidence
Once you are able to do that then you become comfortable in your own skin and nothing will be impossible for you to do. For many people to be able to reach those levels of confidence, help is needed to achieve it. Find programs, books and courses that will help you achieve those levels of mastery, of being comfortable in your own skin and letting YOU shine.
Bottom line – confidence is life changing but only when combined with competence.
